What is brow lamination?

Brow lamination is a setting treatment for your natural brow hairs. Rather than adding anything, we reshape what's already there, gently redirecting each hair into a more uniform direction and setting it in place.

What it actually does is make the hairs more flexible and much easier to style. It isn't gluing them into position permanently, so you'll still brush them into shape each morning. The difference is that they'll go where you put them, instead of doing their own thing.

Who is it for?

Brow lamination is brilliant for:

• Brow hairs that grow in different directions or refuse to sit flat

• Brows that look uneven or asymmetrical because of how the hair falls

• Anyone wanting a fuller, fluffier, more structured brow

• Filling out the appearance of sparser patches using the hair you have

• Taming unruly or coarse brow hairs that won't stay put

Who it's not for, honestly

This one isn't for everyone, and we'd rather tell you that upfront than take your money.

Lamination is a chemical treatment. If your brow hairs are already damaged, or your brows are very fine and sparse, it isn't the right choice and can be too harsh on the hair. In those cases there are better options, and a brow restyle with colour will usually give you a lovelier result.

How long does it last?

Your lamination will generally last around 6 to 8 weeks, depending on your natural hair growth cycle, your skincare, your lifestyle and how well you look after them.

When it comes to booking your next one, we recommend leaving 8 to 10 weeks between full lamination services. That gap isn't about the look, it's about protecting the hair from over-processing. Please wait until your brows have completely dropped back to their natural shape before rebooking.

The first 24 hours

There's a deeply conditioning treatment left on your brows after your appointment, and we want it to stay there. So for the first 24 hours:

• Keep them dry. No swimming, saunas, steam rooms or super-steamy showers.

• Avoid the brow area when washing your face. Everywhere else is fine.

• No brow makeup or products directly on the brows.

• Avoid excessive sweating, so give the gym a miss for the day.

Need to wash your hair? Ask us for a visor on your way out and we'll sort you out.

And if they look really sleek or stuck down straight afterwards, that's completely normal. They've just been freshly laminated and styled. Once you wash them after that first 24 hours, they'll soften right up and look fluffier and far more natural.

Looking after them after that

• Brush them into shape each morning with a clean spoolie. Because the hairs are more flexible now, sleeping moves them around. Waking up to messy brows is normal, a quick brush sorts it.

• Add a brow gel for extra hold if you want it. Our fave is GoGo Brows, which you can grab in studio.

• Keep them conditioned. Lamination chemically changes the hair, so a nourishing brow serum or oil used regularly makes a real difference. Ask us in studio and we'll point you to our top picks.

• Go easy on actives. Avoid strong exfoliants, retinol, AHAs and BHAs directly around the brow area for at least 48 hours after your appointment, and stay cautious with strong actives between appointments too, especially before waxing.
