Brow Tint vs Brow Dye vs Henna: Which One Suits You?
A Bambii B guide to choosing the right colour for your brows.
Staring at the booking page trying to work out the difference between brow tint, brow dye and henna brows? You're not alone, and the answer isn't "pick the trendiest one." It comes down to your natural brows, your skin, and the finish you're after.
At Bambii B, colour is part of an eyebrow restyle, which means we're not just adding colour. We map and shape first, then choose a colour and technique that actually suits your face. No two faces are the same, so no two brows should be either. Here's how the three options differ, and who each one is for.
Brow tint
Brow tint colours the brow hairs only. It's perfect for enhancing your natural brow colour and adding soft definition without changing the shape or filling anything in.
If you already have naturally fuller brows and just want them a shade richer, or you're after a subtle, natural finish, tint is your girl. It's the gentlest of the three and gives a clean, no-makeup brow look.
Best for: naturally fuller brows, anyone wanting subtle definition.
Brow dye
Brow dye goes a step further. It stains both the brow hairs and the skin underneath, which creates a fuller, more defined look, almost like a soft filled-in brow that's already done for you.
Because it colours the skin as well as the hair, dye is the option for anyone working with sparse patches or small gaps, or anyone who wants their brows to look filled in between appointments without reaching for a pencil every morning.
Best for: sparse areas, gaps, a fuller everyday look.
Henna brows
Henna also stains both the hairs and the skin, giving a fuller, more structured brow, but it behaves a little differently. Henna tends to work best on naturally drier skin, where the skin stain holds longer. If you fill your brows in daily because of sparse areas, henna is worth a look.
Best for: drier skin types, sparse brows, anyone who fills in daily.
So which one?
Short version:
Want subtle, natural definition on already-full brows? Tint.
Want to cover gaps and look filled in day to day? Dye.
Drier skin and filling in every morning? Henna.
The honest answer is that you don't have to decide alone. When you come in for your eyebrow restyle with colour, your stylist looks at your brows and your skin and talks you through what will actually suit you. That's the whole point of a restyle over a one-size-fits-all colour.
